For the last week Thirty Seconds to Mars have been tirelessly preparing their live performance at their rehearsal studio in Los Angeles, but news has started to spread about ‘Artifact,’ the documentary they have been filming for the last 2 years.

The band hosted a screeening of  the trailer for the documentary at The Hive for friends, family, and Echelon on Thursday night.

Also, this week the band was featured on the cover of the March issue of Alternative Press which includes an interview with the band.

The Catcher in the RyeThe Catcher in the Rye is a 1951 novel by J. D. Salinger.  Originally published for adults, it has since become popular with adolescent readers for its themes of alienation and rebellion.  It has been translated into almost all of the world’s major languages.  Around 250,000 copies are sold each year, with total sales of more than sixty-five million.  The novel’s protagonist and antihero, Holden Caulfield, has become an icon for teenage rebellion.

Movie of the Week

Old BoyOld Boy is a 2003 South Korean film directed by Park Chan-wook. It is loosely based on the Japanese manga of the same name written by Nobuaki Minegishi and Garon Tsuchiya.  The film follows the story of one Oh Dae-Su, who is locked in a hotel room for 15 years without knowing his captor’s motives. When he is finally released, Dae Su finds himself still trapped in a web of conspiracy and violence.

Album of the Week

Depeche Mode - ViolatorDepeche Mode – Violator
The seventh studio album by the English electronic group Depeche Mode, released by Mute Records on March 19, 1990. Preceded by the hit singles « Personal Jesus » and « Enjoy the Silence, » Violator propelled the band into international stardom.
